Changing my device

If you want to use Thndr on a new device all you have to do is login and we will send you an SMS to verify it's you.

Since you can only use Thndr on one device, you will be logged out of your Thndr account on your previous device.

Why Multi-Factor authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is when a user is required to present more than one type of evidence in order to authenticate on a system. There are four different types of evidence (or factors) that can be used; Something You Know, Something You Have, Something You Are, and Location.

In our case we are using 2 factors to keep our investors safe:

  1. something you have → mobile device (with a verified sim card)
  2. something you know → password.

These 2 factors were chosen carefully to satisfy the security needs of our mobile users, so that investors are still safe even if their password or device was stolen.

Please note:

In case of regular non-investor users, there is no MFA, it is just a single factor (a social media or email account), since there are no funds at stake.

How is my account protected?

When you sign up as an investor the following steps are taken to protect your account:

  • Multi-factor authentication (Password and Device)
  • eKYC protocol to make sure that it's you that is opening the account.

Stolen device protection

For your protection we have multi-factor authentication in place.

This means an individual would need to have the following in order to use the account:

  • Your device
  • Your sim card
  • Your login credentials.

If you believe that all 3 factors are being used by someone else please contact our support immediately.

Avoiding scams

You can be sure that we will always put the security of your assets first.

We also, want to share some notes with you to help you avoid any fraud or scammers.

  • Thndr will never ask for your account PIN/Password.
  • Thndr will never ask for information or credentials regarding your accounts on other trading platforms.
  • Thndr will never request that you download remote desktop access software.
  • If a scammer calls or emails you, pretending to be someone from the Thndr team, asking for your account information or asking you to download any software. Know that this is not the Thndr team and do not disclose any of this information.
  • If you suspect your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately through the chat box on our app.
  • If you’ve given your Thndr credentials to someone, or if you use the same password elsewhere, please change your password immediately.

This advice applies to all services that may be targeted by scammers. We want to make sure you and your assets stay safe, so please feel free to reach out with any questions. We’re here to help.
